When selecting hair extensions, the type of weft utilized can greatly influence the final appearance and feel of the product. Two prominent weft types in hair extensions are machine weft and the genius weft. This blog aims to highlight the fundamental differences between these two options and guide you in choosing the right one for your needs.
Machine weft involve sewing or stitching strands of hair onto a pre-fabricated track using machines. These tracks are commonly made from sturdy materials like cotton or polyester and are available in various sizes to fit different head shapes and hair densities. Installation of machine weft is straightforward and can be done through methods such as sew-in, tape-in, and clip-in.
A key advantage of machine weft is their affordability and widespread availability. They are also relatively easy to maintain and can be styled and colored similarly to natural hair. However, they may sometimes feel bulky and uncomfortable, especially if installed too tightly or with numerous tracks. Additionally, they can be visible in certain hairstyles.
Genius weft is a newer hair extension type designed to be virtually unnoticeable when worn. Unlike machine weft hair extensions, genius weft extensions involve hand-tying individual hair strands onto a thin, flexible weft. This results in a flat, seamless finish that blends effortlessly with natural hair.
One of the primary benefits of the genius weft is its enhanced comfort compared to machine weft hair extensions. It also offers a more natural and seamless appearance, even in intricate hairstyles. However, genius weft tend to be more expensive and may require greater skill for proper installation.
The decision between machine weft and genius weft ultimately depends on personal preference and budget. If you're seeking a cost-effective and versatile option that is easy to install and style, machine weft may be the ideal choice. On the other hand, if you're looking for a more natural and comfortable option that blends seamlessly with your hair, genius weft may be the better option for you.
